Tell Tales
Saturday 4th November, 2006

There was one ‘505’
Two Fireballs
Two Keel Boats
Three ‘15’s’
And a partridge in a pear tree
A south wind and 1.5m swell
A short course and a long one.
Two starts and good ones at that!

The short course race saw all boats approach the start line on time with “Windswept” taking their name far too seriously.
The main race also had a good start and all involved were sailing well. Great sailing conditions saw the fleet positions decided at the start with everyone holding the same positions throughout the day.
Notable events for the day were the challenge between the two fireballs with Pete & Stew being far too comfortable with their craft to allow a real challenge from Matt & Gary. Close behind were the cheeky ‘Windswept’ crew and Shayne & John, silent but deadly, in ‘Town Bike’. ‘Sweat Shop’ followed, sailed by Joffer & Russell showing the rest of the club that ‘470’ sailors can sail anything and well. ‘Miss Molly’ with Col & Doug in control were being chased by Bill & crew in ‘Tumbleweed’ with Kerry close on their stern in ‘Interlude’ showing Marriner by name, mariner by nature.
