Tell Tales 18th March, 2006
Eight local yachts plus Colac sailor Paul Davies in his RL24 Street Car contested this week’s heat of the Post Xmas Series. Officers of the day Matt and Gary set a long course in anticipation of the wind strengthening. Unfortunately it didn’t. With only a 5 knot SSE wind prevailing the course needed to be shortened to one triangle and a windward return.

Colin and Doug on Miss Molly sailed a faultless race to take out handicap honours. Peter Deppeler on his Farr 38 was again unbeatable on yardstick. The forever-late Jeffers and son Angus sailing the Fireball, You Good Thing gave the fleet an eight minute head start and never worried the leaders. Line honours went to Dave Merry on his Cat. Not a bad effort considering he sailed the high-performance boat single-handedly.

Handicap Results :
1st Miss Molly Colin Coleman & Doug Williams
2nd Interlude John Marriner & Crew
3rd Tumbleweed Bill Gross & cast of thousands
4th Jubilation Peter Deppeler & Crew
