Minutes of Monthly Meetings

2nd January, 2008

Present: Russell Smith, John Marriner, Matt Armstrong, Peter Bourne, Suze McBride, Pete Geekie.

Apologies: Ian Learey, Margaret Findlay

Confirmation of previous meeting’s minutes: confirmed: Moved J Marriner, Seconded: R Smith, carried.

Business arising:
• Handicapping issue: now resolved to the satisfaction of the committee.
• Four Winds Marine: has agreed to sponsor the ABSC yard stick club championship to the tune of $100. PB to email membership form to Roger Bennett.
• “Sista Mermaid” Letter to Jeanne Weston – Matt to follow up.
• Sat Nights Pub Raffle: Schedule distributed. First raffle – very successful – approx $440 raised.
• Ynglings: Suze requested full list of members emails to assist coordination. Action: MA
• “Supervised Sailing for Beginners” General discussion re kids sailing – the club will try an informal morning on Saturday 12 January at 10 am.
• Communication with club members: Tell Tales – details of following weeks race, duty crew and pub raffle duty are now regularly added to ‘Tell Tale’ reports

Correspondence In:
• Registration Certificate for the Rescue Boat
• www.yachtandboat.com.au - promotional letter – Matt to pin up
Correspondence be accepted. Moved: M Armstrong, Seconded Russell - carried

Treasurer’s Report:
PB presented the report on behalf of Helen Davis.
Balances of Accounts
• General Acc $6,911.26
• Investment Account $4235
• Total Amount $11,146.26
Peter pointed out these balances are after substantial expenses for the month.
Motion: “Treasurer’s report be accepted” moved PB sec MA, carried

General Business:
• Lease on clubhouse land: John to follow up Harbour manager, Matt to follow up old correspondence
