News Letter - July
2007
G’day everyone,
Just a reminder that the Sailing Club’s AGM
is fast approaching. It is on the 10th August and
will be held in the Krambruk Room at the bottom pub
at 7.30 pm. The main purpose of the AGM is for the
election of a new committee which will oversee the
running of the club through the coming sailing season,
and also to set membership fees for the coming season.
I am sure you appreciate that without a committee
the whole organised sailing scene in Apollo Bay is
just not going to happen. Being on the club committee
is not hard work, doesn’t take up much time,
involves meeting on the first Wednesday of the month
to discuss club issues (holidays in the Whitsundays,
Gary & Angelika’s sailing exploits, and
holidays to Paris etc. etc.) Please think about getting
involved, it’s very rewarding. Some of us will
be having a meal and a drink at the pub before the
meeting, why not join us.
As this will be my last communication as Commodore,
I would like to thank the present committee –
Russell Smith, Sandra Skene, Chris Marriner, Colin
Coleman, Matt Armstrong, Bob Knowles, Peter Geekie,
Peter Bourne and Jeffrey Richardson – for the
great job they have done over the last 12 months,
and also Bill Gross as club handicapper, Ian Learey
for race management, and Leo Di Cecco for making sure
we weren’t thirsty after a hard afternoon’s
sailing.
Cheers
John
Commodore (Retired!)
P.S. If you want any items listed for discussion
at the AGM, could you let Chris know before 27th July
