| Apollo Bay Community Market Inc.
Regulations 2006 |
| 1. All goods must be
home made or home produced by the stallholder. Packaging
of goods does not qualify as home produced. Goods should
be of the stallholders own design. |
| 2. All food stalls must
abide by Council Health Regulations, and have a Shire
permit. A copy of the current Kitchen Registration to
be provided. |
| 3. Prospective stallholders
must be a resident or ratepayer of the Coastal Riding
of the Colac Otway Shire or the Forrest locality The
market is to encourage local production and industry. |
| 4. The market operates
on Saturday mornings and closes by 4.30pm. The market
is held on the Foreshore between the Information Centre
and the Surf Life Saving Club. |
| 5. Plastic bags are
discouraged, and only recycled plastic bags may be used. |
| 6. Cars must not be
parked on the market site. |
| 7. Space used by a stallholder
is limited to what the Market Committee considers to
be reasonable. Only one site per stallholder. The maximum
length of a stall site is 5 metres, and 3 metres depth.
A stall on the Ocean Road side of the market only can
intrude up to 30 cms onto the path. Preference is to
set stalls back from the path. |
8. The stallholder daily
fee is $10- [$5- May to October].
Fees are collected on the day. |
9. Stalls must not interfere
with public access to permanent tables and seats
[ min. clearance is l.5 metres], and stallholders must
be responsible for safety and tidiness around their
stall. |
10. Many sites are reserved
for established stallholders [especially around the
perimeter] and are allocated by agreement with the committee
in early December. These sites are not held after 9am.
Unreserved sites are allocated by a committee person
on a first come first served basis. |
11. Stallholders are
advised to comply with Council parking restrictions.
To maximize space for the public, use off street parking
where possible and the foreshore overflow carpark which
has no
time limit. |
| 12. No sites are available
for hot food stalls and tents are not permitted on the
middle ground of the market place. |
12.5. For safety and
public access, stallholders abutting the G.O.R. are
to park their own car directly behind the middle of
their stall and leave a min. 1.1 metre gap between stalls.
*The Market Inc. does not carry product liability insurance
for stallholders. Stallholders are responsible for their
own products.
Prospective stallholders must apply on the application
form and provide evidence of residency status {regulation
3}, eg. A copy of a rates notice,electricity account,
drivers licence etc. |
| Any stallholder who does
not comply with the market regulations will be refused
a site at the market. |
